Private Pilates Sessions are designed for the client who requires unique and specialized programming, or who is new to Pilates.  Our Private sessions consist of one-on-one training with one of our exceptional staff members, and are tailored specifically for the individual client's body requirements   Our trained staff will monitor your body's continual progress.  During 1-on-1 lessons, you will have the opportunity to train with various staff members, increasing your learning and progress. Unlike the "boot camp” approach, we tailor programs to each individual's capabilities and goals.

Specific Trainer Requests are provided for clients who want to choose which trainer will train them. It is our mission and goal to provide the best training experience possible.  We set ourselves apart from other facilities by working as one unified team of trainers. In the interest of long-term quality and schedule flexibility, we believe it is in the best interests of the client to experience a variety of trainers whenever possible. 

Therapeutic Pilates Sessions are a highly specialized means of rehabilitation for the client who has an injury, chronic pain or severe issue that requires special attention. Designed to optimize an individual's quality of movement, these sessions focus on re-educating and activating the deep local stabilizers of the spine to control and reestablish a correct movement pattern of the lumbar-pelvic region.

A series of therapeutic sessions is designed to teach the individual to recruit the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, and train them to sustain this connection so that they can move freely and without pain, helping to transform their quality of life.

Semi-Private Sessions

Our Semi-Prvate sessions are small, usually with 2-4 clients and a each highly trained instructor.  This ensures that our clients are receiving a safe and productive workout with personal feedback and exercise correction. These sessions are perhaps the most effective Pilates group classes in San Diego.
Marshall Eklund PILATES Studio has a unique approach to Semi-Private training. All Semi-Private sessions are designed for healthy individuals who would like to strengthen their bodies and improve flexibility, especially the abdominals, back, lower body and shoulder girdle. For those who have more troublesome bodies, please see Private and Therapeutic Exercise Sessions.

It has taken us numerous years to develop the incredible Semi-Private program. Our focus is on impeccable training that is safe and effective. Semi-Private Sessions utilize Matwork, the Reformer and Cadillac, as well as light equipment such as the BOSU® ball and Combo Chair.

Semi-Privates are divided into levels to allow each client to be in a group compatible with their evolving fitness level.  Our Semi-privates often rotate trainers so that you may experience all that our phenomenal staff has to offer.  We ask that Semi-private clients commit to two sessions per week. This helps maintain the highest quality of training for all participants.

Mat Class Sessions

Mat Work is the foundation of Pilates and is beneficial for everyone. Some may think that mat work is easier than equipment. Those who do Mat training learn that it can be very challenging.

Mat classes focus on mobilizing or stabilizing the body, incorporating flexion, extension, lateral flexion, rotation and stability of the spine.  Mat sessions are extremely effective in conditioning the abdominal region and lower back.  With regular practice the body develops stronger firmer abdominal muscles and vastly improved posture. It lengthens tight muscles and strengthens those with a lack of muscular strength.  Most mat exercises combine both strength and flexibility, making the exercise of great value to all.

Mat classes are an economical method to gain the benefits of STOTT PILATES™ in a small, friendly Pilates group setting.  They are also a great way to augment your Private and Semi-Private training.

Marshall Eklund Pilates San Diego Mat Classes are recommended for healthy individuals with limited orthopedic issues.
