Extraordinary Value!!! 3 Reasons to choose our Small Equipment & Mat-Based Classes (SEMB)
Marshall Eklund Pilates Studio Small Equipment/Mat-Based (SEMB) classes provide unsurpassed quality of training at an extraordinary value. Our classes are exceptional in quality, trainer experience and group size. These small group classes are not like the “Pilates Classes” offered at Gyms and Fitness Facilities. Here are three reasons you will gain amazing benefits from Pilates training in our Mat-Based Small Equipment classes.
1. Teacher Experience: Our team of Pilates instructors is the best in the business. Our trainers have literally thousands of hours of training producing the skill to help you perform exercises correctly—an absolute requirement to gain the strong toned body of Pilates Training.
2. Class Size: Unlike fitness facilities that may have classes of 20, 30 and even 40 members our classes are limited to 12 clients with a typical class size of 4-8 students. Without a doubt, this great teacher/student ratio allows for more attention and corrections from our gifted and skilled trainers. This ratio yields a training experience more similar to one-on-training.
3. Equipment Used: Our Small Equipment Mat Based classes (SEMB) are framed around the original mat-work of Joseph Pilates but have been updated using STOTT PILATES with modern science, biomechanical principles and modern training tools and techniques. Many strictly mat classes are limited to simple gravity of the floor and our bodies. Our small equipment classes use an arsenal of training props and tools to assist and resist for greater effectiveness. The utilization of BOSU, Foam Roller, Flex Bands®, Toning Balls, Stability balls and fitness circles allow our classes to challenge the body further than in a traditional Pilates classes.
All Small Equipment/Mat-based (SEMB) classes focus on mobilizing and stabilizing the various joints of the body. SEMB sessions are especially effective in conditioning the abdominal region and lower back. However, by adding Small Equipment not only are the abdominals and back addressed, but the arms, legs, neck and shoulders are also effectively conditioned and trained. Most mat exercises combine both strength and flexibility, incorporating flexion, extension, lateral flexion, rotation and stability of the spine. These exercises lengthen tight muscles and strengthen those with a lack of muscular strength. With regular practice the body develops stronger firmer abdominal muscles and vastly improved posture. These classes are highly recommended as a stand alone program or augmentation to other equipment Pilates training.
